Default Decent track tyres?

Right, I need a good, cheap(ish) tyre that is goooooood for track work.

Anyone have any suggestions? They're for my new wheels, I don't really fancy slicks tbh, and cut slicks seem to be mental expensive.

Toyo R888s

Cheap (relative to other brands) . Work (see Performance Ford review of them this month)

Forget 'ordinary' road tyres, and try to avoid even performance road tyres if you want them mainly for track use - even Goodyear F1s and Toyo T1s etc have a hard time under sustained track use.

R888s are only available in the following sizes in 15inch form:

195/50 VR 15 82V 2G
195/55 VR15 85V 2G
165/50 VR15 72V 2G
205/50 ZR15 86W 2G
215/50 ZR15 88W 2G
225/50 R 15 91W 2G

195/50/15s are usually around £65- £70 depending where you shop.

I have them in this size on my Pug 205, and PF Dave has the same size on his Fiesta Track car
