Are Sikhs (spelling) muslims? Or do they have their own faith, I know that they take the name singh, and are not meant to cut their hair but thats all I know I have been wondering about this all day sad I know but there you go

I am genuinley interested to know.

Sikhs are NOT followers of Islam, but are followers of Sikhism (oddly)

If my memory serves me correctly isn't that why Pakistan came into being? As India is prodominantly(sp) sikh, there was a similar sectarian situation to Ireland. There was a civil war and the muslim area of India became Pakistan?
