As some of you know my Video recorder died yesterday

Can anybody give me some advise / ideas on a good DVD recorder to replace it with.

Also what discs do you use, cost and how long they are ?

Many Thanks

Steve.

ive got a panasonic one with a built in hard drive which is very good. i personaly would not get one without a hard drive as it means you dont have to keep putting discs in to record to you can just save to hard drive and if you want to keep the program you can then copy it on to a dvd if not you can just delete it

I got an Alba one at the start of the year from Argos for about £60.

Uses DVD+R or +RW, records up to 6 hours on one disk, but the quality isnt the best. It watchable on the stupidly long play option, but is a bit grainy.

i have it set to the middle quality where we get 3 hours to a disk.

Obviously RW's can be erased, +R cant.
