going to look at a st24 tomorrow as a winter run around is there any problems i should be looking for with regards to rot, electrical and mechanical problems also whats your general view on them as a car

Water pumps fail,easy to swap to a metal impellor one. Rear door locks play up so the door won't unlock properly, rust on rear arches & heaters can stop directing the air where you want.Other than that its a great car.I had one for a year and not bad for the money.

I've managed 30mpg on a run which isn't bad, and you don't have to drive miss daisey to do it.

mpg might be the problem as i will be doing quite a lot of milage so it looks like a mondy tubo diesel might be the way to go

I only ever got a max of 26mpg on my old one, maybe I should of slowed down a bit
