a guy had the "original" grey s1 in hambelton...near blackpool

and from what i heard, he sold it to some guy as a genuine from the factory "grey" s1, for big big money....

new owner strips off old underseal to renew, and sees its white,...hmmmmm strange,..so he digs a bit more, and it turns out, its ALL white.....

but thats how the STORY goes, no idea how true it is...

ok,ill keep hunting for it, when i nearly brought it before i was told the guy brought it white, drove out of ford then turned straight back around and told them he wanted it mercury grey hence why it was probably white underneath

Makes sense tbh, alot of places if they dont do the car originally in that colour will paint it standard a colour then it gets re-painted again after over the top!!!

We've had a few ppl wanting different colour SLR's in the past, i know a few are white now which mclaren refused 2 paint!! So the cars got sprayed and built up in the standard silver and sold to the customers then they had 2 take them somewhere else to be flatted and sprayed again

Aah..there was one more recent than that...that was the one I was thinking of.

Still can't believe he's sold it tho.
At least it's gone to another good home. Don't think Tony would let it go anywhere other than a good home anyway.
