A couple of people already know that im quitting my current job to concentrate on a new business venture thats been in the pipeline for the last month or so. After working our arses off over the last few weeks we've managed to secure the contract we were after and we're just about good to go with clients already on stand by.

Well, I've just come out of a meeting with my 2 new business partners where my wages were finalised as i'll be responsible for different areas then them more suited to my skills and im fooking over the moon! Not only is my fixed basic going up a fair whack (gonna be working far less hours too) but im also gonna be on 1% commission of all the business written through the Company

Only draw back is that I fly back to England on Wednesday, supposedly for 4 weeks but im gonna have to cut this short now as we're gonna be up and running by the end of next week, still gonna make Blackpool tho

Im soooooooooooo god damn happy that its all come together and I get to leave this office (well not the office, but the two American owners whose behaviour and conduct around staff is shocking).

Congratulations Hun, great news indeed, and its fair to say you were due some...

 

Well, there's not a really a job spec as such but the other two are now qualified Brokers with licences so they can operate legally (rare for round here ).
They will be generating the business, whereas im going to be responsible for pretty much everything else, issuing Share Purchase Agreements and Share Certificates, Banking, Transfers, keeping track of Clients Portfolios. Similar to what I do now but i'll have a lot more contact with the Clients, I just wont have to sell anything to them (which I hate lol).
I wont need to monitor the Stock Market too much, thats the Brokers job, i'll just have to be aware of the basics, when Companies are about to be floated etc.....

I'll basically be keeping the backbone of the business in check and the boys will be writing the business.
Our main office in Gibralter is just about ready to go, but for the first month or so we're going to operate as a satellitte office to keep costs down.

 

Clare, im sure you will do a great job of their filing and make sure their cups are always filled with tea, and they always have cleavage to stare down, clearly you are the perfect person for the job

well done and good luck , but beware the first rule about setting up on your own is don't pay yourself too much in wages until the company is well on it's way.

The Company will be officially based in Gib, but for now I will be working from Costa as im not allowed to drive again yet. We're setting up a divert to my mobile for all incoming calls in the meantime.
