Default vans for towing?

i fancy changing the ranger and getting a van- something like a transporter or a vito but would need something capable of towing the car and trailer

i know the vito would be over the towing limit but what about the ex aa transporter vans as they have uprated air suspension for towing???

any idea what the towing limit is on the aa vans and does anyone have any other ideas of what i could use?

I have a 2000 tranny , LWB high roof , and its mint

If your useing it for private use you dont need a tacco , so when i get stopped by VOSA ( we have nothing else better to do bunch of total wanker idiots who like to show they are the lord of the road twats ) i just say i have bought the car to restore for myself , they cant do anything about it , but if its for business use , i need a tacco ,ONE OF THE BRITISH STUPID LAWS .

Get a tranny mate , pull well and cheap tp maintain

I dont think the capacity changes, because they are all commercial the limit is the same is it not. I had a Vito and now have a Mwb medium roof tranny and they both tow my twin axle 1600kg caravan without a problem. Maybe they are not fast but they could do 60 ish no probs.

a car on a trailer is a fair bit heavier than most caravans

im sure there was a post a while back about people getting pulled over for being over weight while towing with vans

i dont want to buy a van and start spending money on it only to find i just cant use it

You can still buy the rear wheel drive 3.5 tonner (T350) with the big engine in a short wheel base low roof Transit mate.

I towed a car in with my 135bhp Transit the other day. You noticed there was extra weight when setting off but when you are moving, you almost can't tell it's there!

thats what i thought
if your using a van as a service barge i would of thought
a lwb shr or a hitop would of been great for pulling, kipping in and
carrying spares etc

It's not what you want though mate. It's the medium roof medium wheel base model.
