So, I read on the news that UK prisons have about 100 places left until they are full to capacity and everyone is busting a bollock over it.

Get executing these fucking Paedophiles and Rapists, that'll do one of two things. It will clear some space and it will stop the offence's being committed for fear of proper punishment. I'm sick of the UK's pussy-footing ways of dealing with offenders of such awful crimes.

God this country pisses me off sometimes.

 

I say do what they do in far east get caught stealing and chop half a finger off, keep doing it and chop ur hand off........that would stop car theft/burglary/shop theft/muggings overnight and i believe thats probably 95% of crime commited in the UK!!..........SORTED

There's bound to be some less serious offenders let out on the quiet so there's still space for the murderers, etc.

I agree with a few things above but what i aminly think the goverment should do is stop all human right orders being given to prisoners.I think it shocking how i could go out,rape an innocent girl/women get a 10yr service,do 5 and of those 5yrs pick up better ways to commit offences,have sky tv,playstation,my papers delivered in the mornin by gaurds and even get the biggest football matches live!! Half these things i dont even own myself cause i cant afford none of it!! Another thing with the human right orders is that they say 'i was ill treated by other inmates so i want to claim for breech of human rights' or 'the gaurds spoke to me in an off manner and now i suffer from depression due to these mean people' i mean come on these people are in there for a reason are they not.You look at any other country in the world and prisons are no-where near the standards of ours.No clean toilets,hardly any cleaning facilities in some and the bullying etc are beyond speaking about.

It obviously is not that effective as a punishment.

couldn't agree more. These days there's DNA so there's no doubt if someone was there or not, not like it was in the 60's when that technology never existed. If there's cast iron proof they were there with DNA evidence to back it up - shoot the fuckers.

 

I bet 50% or more of those that do re-offend is because they are homeless, jobless dirtbags. So prison, with everything provided and paid for by the taxpayer, it's a far better option for these useless lowlifes.

yep, quite simply prison is too easy and soft on them.

TVs in cells, free roof over their head, 2 hot meals a day, free education and courses.

They just have to wait 13 weeks, and earn enhanced priviliges meaning they can have a PS2 or similiar, hi-fi systems and other items that make it even more homely.

Only six years ago there was no TVs in cells, no toilets in cells, and lights out at 11pm.

Its just too easy

when i went to visit an ex in prison i couldnt believe how cushty they have it! for starters the visiting area was like an airport, all smart and comfy? There was an even an avary! He said he had a tv, etc in his room, did what he wanted to a certain extent, played footie etc. it's ridiculous!! They go there to be punished and its like a bloody holiday camp!! How are they to learn their lesson? And he even said, i'm not bothered if i come back here, it's alright really!! I was like WTF!!
And yes he went back twice after!!

I think i should be allowed to punish them, i'll show them punishment!!

 

why dont they have a prison island like one of the offshore islands off the north coast of scotland, make it like a big alcatraz, big walls around it, armed guards and its fookin freezing!! they cant swim that far!!

 

Totally agree - I personally feel, if you are found guilty of a crime against society and/or humanity, hen your forfeit your human rights, therefore there's no need for any of this bullshit about being treated badly in prison...

Get some fucking off shore jails, no creature comforts or any of that shit - anyone seen the Eastwood "Escape From Alcatraz"??? THAT's how prisons need to be - 6x8 cell, 2 bunk beds, a shitter and a sink - thats all you are getting. People need to be locked up for at least 16hrs of the day, with 1 exercise break, 1 shower break, and 2 food breaks. Job done.

Then, anyone found guilty of a "higher level crime" - murder, rape, peodo-crimes, that sort of thing - need to be excecuted......

It's so simple but our shit for brains government don't have the balls to do it.

 

 

Make a list on the internet of all the addresses of people in government and remove there security. Just you watch how quickly they start locking up people!

I studied criminology for a degree about 5 years ago, and they knew 100% that they would reach its limit, however they thought they would find a way of reducing prison sentences, custodial sentences and find ways to re-habilitate the prisons

HOWEVER.............

It didnt work out like that as crime rose and people now go to prison for shoplifting!

There is a OPEN Prison now open in Dover, near to Schools, the Port of Dover, its a joke, its a threat to children and national security.

This was developed as there is no space in prisons, but the GOVERMENT should never jepodise the safety of the younger generation because of their mistakes

Putting Peadophiles and Sex offenders near to 3 Primary and all girls school!

Wheres the sence in that!!?????

 

And what really really fucks me off is that many prisons are more relaxed with more recreational facilities than some Mental Hospitals

Criminals getting better conditions than patients!! Only in this country!!!!

It makes me so angry as this could effect me personally now Especially as my civvy friend shrink thinks she cant keep my illness amongst friends much longer because as soon as she sends me to see another professional for treatment she cant provide its going to be so obvious.

Imagine how id feel knowing prisoners were getting better treatment

Especially as being armed forces I'm already a higher risk, and I also shot myself in the foot telling them i'd escape if they locked me up (DOH DOH DOH) so I'd end up in a proper secure hospital. The mental wing at your average general hospital aint secure enough (DOH DOH DOH)

 

Some years ago a russian arrived with the ferry in Sweden. He walked right into a hardware store and bought a hammer. When he got out of the store he smashed it in the head of the first person he saw, killing a retired man who was on his way to do the shopping for his wife.

He only did this so he could live the hotel life in swedish prisions.

 

I think the problem with executions is

a: the offenders get an easy way out and no't have to suffer. Look at Ian Huntley. I'm personally glad he gets regular kickings. This wouldn't happen if he were dead, nor would he have to live with the hatred directed at him.

b: Sometimes an innocent person goes down.

I can see the plusses for it, but there are also these negatives.

Right heres my 2 pence worth on execution:

There is a murder.

The family of the victim will have to suffer a great deal of pain.

The murderer is executed.

Now 2 families will suffer great pain

All for the idea of getting redress or revenge 2 families will be destroyed as opposed to one.

It won't bring back the victim.

 

Simple fact is they need to get their finger out their fat asses and build more holding prisons, until proper prisons are built.
Government needs to spend money asap. End of.

As for kiddy fiddlers, rapists etc, they should be held in separate prisons, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, and life being life. End of.

Tell ya what, I was in San francisco in August and went to Alcatraz on a tour! Fook me, that was a prison!!!!!!!! So cold, spooky and very uncomfortable. They even built the excercise yard on the cold windy side of the island for extra effect!!

Need to bring back prisons like that IMO

 

It costs around £20000 per year to keep a prisoner.

Give the criminals the cash instead and let them out then they wouldnt
need to break the law that would save some places.

In some prisons it's only 4 weeks to enhanced and you get special perks for serving Life use of kitchens, extra money, more visits and in some jails the cells have an en suite shower

 

The government pays £20,000 out to keep a prisoner
...in a large en suite room...most with tvs and internet connections

However they only give around £6000 a year to students as loans that they have to pay back
....most of whom have to share bathrooms with up to 20 others...if you want a tv in your room it's a £131.50 license please..and it's hit or miss whether your internet will even go on even though you pay through the arse for it

Seriously though..I think one of the problems is..the type of people who could be ''rehabilitated'' and so fourth in open prisons (eg non-violent burglars, fraudsters..who aren't a danger to anyone (only financial/property)..they are just criminals for committing crime) generally aren't. Instead they put registered sex offenders/murderers in open prisons (eg Prescoed in monmouthshire..2 sex offenders escaped into the community a few months ago..)
They were deemed ''not a risk'' to the community so were put in an open prison. However, when they escaped the public were warned they posed ''a dangerous risk''...which is it?..

If they sorted out kids in schools, by that I mean schools/parents..but at school age..rooted out drug problems younger..a lot of people wouldn't have to turn to crime as a ''last resort''..so you'd only get the losers/scummers that would have done it anyway..thus emptier prisons with plenty of room for the ian huntleys of this world to rot away in. Too many human rights to hang/shoot/stone people now sadly..blame the human rights act of 1998 (woo, I learnt something in uni)....
