BEFORE registering new sim card move all numbers to old card and then put old card in new phone and transfer from "sim to phone" job done..... This is now where you say "i've already registered new sim".... if you've done that i'm pretty sure you're screwed

yeah as above, go into contacts, scroll down to copy, then choose 'from phone to sim card...

then in your new phone, do the same but copy from sim to phone.

i use a 5140 for work, damn near indestructable

Martin - Think your Sim will hold about 200 numbers. Your best bet is to copy/move all your numbers off the phone memory into the simcard. Then place your old simcard in your new phone. Should be in the phonebook menu

Put the sim in the original phone. In the contacts menu there is a copy option. Use 'copy to sim'. That means all the numbers on the phone are now on the sim.

Put the sim in the new phone and use 'copy from sim to phone'

Job done

May i suggest you get a cable to connect your new Nokia to the computer and store a backup copy of all your numbers on the PC.

From someone who recently had a mobile stolen, I can tell how invaluable this was.

I think what Marting might be saying is that the SIM card is full, therefore some numbers will be on the phone memory, which means you can't copy the numbers from phone to the SIM to transfer.

What I did was backup ALL the numbers to my computer first, and then did as Eagle suggests above.......

Easy answer.....

Take the phones into a Carphone Warehouse, they will sort it for you.

That's OK as long as you don't have any wife-porn that you don't want them to perv at.
