Default FAO the Future Publishing peeps

Seen this on another forum and wondered if you knew anything?

Not sure how true this is but I have read that Future Publishing, owners of Total Vauxhall, are to axe 3 titles!

Total BMW, Retro and J-Tuner are the ones I have heard of - anyone know if this is true and if so how safe is Total Vauxhall?

Total Vauxhall is doing perfectly well at the moment mate, we arent under any risk of closure as far as im aware.

But TBH the people writing would be the last to know anyway

Well if you get quickly bored of reading about a limited number of models, any single make mag isnt really going to suit you.

Fast ford is just full of sierras fiestas and escorts too, thats kind of the point of a mag like total vauxhall, its totally about vauxhalls

My point was also trying to say that there are more Vauxhalls out there than the 3 I mentioned as thats all they seem to concentrate on for the main part.
I have no problems with single make mags as long as there is some variety

You are talking absolute crap im afraid there mate, its NOTHING like that!

God knows when you last bought a mag if you think that.

This month for example there are a couple of mantas in there, a lotus carlton, and a calibra on the cover, i dont really think the mag could do a better job of covering the whole scene than it does, the variety really is right across the board, yes of course the 3 you mentioned crop up most issues, but thats just like the sierra/escort/fiesta scenario with fast ford, you wont ever see an issue that has none of those in it as they are so popular, so likewise the nova/corsa/vectra will always feature, but its a very unfair comment to claim thats all they do, it isnt even half of this months mag for example!

I never said it is all they do, I said it is what they cover for the main part.
Of course I understand that they are popular cars, there are alot that could be featured out there, and therefore always featured.

BUT FOR ME, I am bored of reading about them.
Im sorry that Im not allowed to have an opinion about it and yours has to be the right one

You seem to have totally ignored the fact ive just mentioned that this month (for example) there is:
2 mantas
1 calibra
1 lotus carlton

plus the staff omega and cavalier

do none of those cars interest you either?

If not, which vauxhalls would you like to read about?

(im genuinely looking for useful feedback here!)

TBH, not really

Good question, not really that many worth a look at anyway is there
More cavs wouldnt go a miss, Dougie has said many a time that he tries and tries to get them in but they never are.
My mate has probably the best cav gsi in the country no question, yet they are not interested in it "because too many blue cavs have been in the mag" Good job they dont think like that on Performance Ford with the limit amount of colours cossies came in LOL

PMSL

So your main gripe is you dont want a vauxhall magazine to be made up of the most part of a combination of:
Carltons, Mantas, Calibras, Novas, Corsas, Vectras, Cavaliers, Omegas

But it would be ok if it was a good balance of the vauxhall scene by being full of all cavaliers?

I think you need to be buying "total cavalier" then mate

P.S

Is your mate the bloke with the 600bhp+ RWD cavalier then?
Or some other cav you reckon is the best in the country (as that one is my favourite one but obviously opinions vary)

Chips right, TV have a good vairety of Vaux's in it, which makes it a bloody good mag, and helps that Dougie loves his Mk2 Cav's (even tho you cant understand a word he says ) and Bartons got a drift Omega.

You say you dont like reading about the certain FWDs all the time, but TV get a fair bit of stick from a lot of Vaux owners for featuring so many of the RWD ones etc, as all they wanna see the FWD shat 24/7

IMO J-Tuner is really unfortunate because the likes of Max Power and Fast Car cover the drifting and Jap scene, and while they're utter bollocks, all the wee boys are going to run out and buy them because they get a free set of neon bonnet pins and the mags have naked ladies in them and they're not even on the top shelf.

I have bought J-Tuner in the past and thought it was quite good. Well written and had some good articles that explain things properly.

I wish Max Power and Fast Car would go out of business....

This is typical with the publishing market a present. Advertising is at a low point and mags are struggling. Without advertisment the mags have no stability.

I think you'll find MaxP won't be going anywhere for a while due to the popularity.

I know our place has closed a few mags recently... But that is the way things go.. Old ones go.. New ones pop up.

There's an online petition already going to try and save J-Tuner http://www.petitiononline.com/jtuner/petition.html

Oh, so he bought a non LET one and converted it?

TBH that realy isnt of a great deal of interest to many people, i know that sounds harsh, but seriously who gives a monkeys that he unbolted one engien and bolted another in?
Its not a difficult thing to do, and its only creating something he could have bought in the first place.
Its not more interesting to someone reading it than it would be if vauxhall put the engine there instead of your mate, as so many out there exist already.

A car doesnt get worthy of a feature just cause its a replica someone built at home rather than made by the factory (oh the fucking irony of me saying that )

Not sure on the GSi, possibly, but certainly no other major change as its effectively the same shell as they both share IRS

If it was a hatchback it would be more of an achievement, but likewise no one would give a shit, its still just a LET 4wd cavalier like all the others either way.

Hardly makes it "the best cavalier in the country" just cause unlike all the others its a replica and he had to swap to 5 stud hubs etc, woopy fucking doo

For someone that supposedly knows about Vauxhalls Im surprised at your reply.
You could not buy a Cavalier GSI with a LET from the factory, they ALL came with C20XE. You are thinking of a Cavalier Turbo?
Yes he has done an engine swap, but did I say that is ALL he has done?

Like I already said, where did I say the only thing done to the car was the engine swap?
I didnt.

Where did I say it was a replica of something else?
I didnt.

Your cocky answers may entertain the majority of wankers on here and MIG, but not me.

As you have already made up your mind as to everything that has been done to the car, I wont bother wasting anymore time with you

Im not saying you could buy a GSi LET, im saying you could buy a cavalier LET (ie EXACTLY what he has created!)

You could buy a CAVALIER 4wd Gsi 20XE
You could buy a CAVALIER 4wd turbo C20LET

To anyone reading the mag, they REALLY arent going to care that it says "GSi" instead of "Turbo" on the log book. (unless you are suggesting the feature should have pics of the logbook )

Im mildy interested in the car anyway though if you reckon its had loads of other stuff done to it too, lets see some pics and spec of it then

Next the guy will be complaining Passion Ford doesn't have enough Cavs on it. Mind you since that (increadably rare) blue Cav turbo (sleeper) seems to be getting posted on every thread possible maybe not.

Why should I bother?
You had already made up your mind that it was nothing special/nothing that any reader would be interested in/nothing out of the ordinary.

All that without even seeing any pics, let alone a spec list....

Toys are well and truly in the pram still, I just dont have time for idiots with cocky replies when they havent even set eyes on what they are passing judgement against
