Evos are great cars. Far more modern and better in my opinion

Why dont you drive your escos to a dealer selling an Evo. Drive the evo and then straight after drive your escos back home. that way the evo drive will be fresh in your mind and you can compare the 2

I suppose it depend's really on what you want modern tehnology being on the evos side but i'm sure if you throw some cash at the cossie she would see some gains in power and mybe match a evo good luck.

 

You'd have to throw alot of money at it to match an evo for all round performance & handling

 

I will be sad when my Escos is sold, as I've had it a long time and it's been a brilliant, reliable car. Driving both my cars back to back, even with the cossie having 70bhp more, the Evo is the car I prefer.

i been in a few mate and its my opinion that they not as quickas they make out i raced lots of standard and a fq400 and they max out at 150
and mid range is not that good .

keep the cossie twice as nice and alot rarer ive test drove them before i got my escort ive drove 2 fairly new fq models there grippy but not the same raw feeling of the cosworth.theres a supposed 420bhp one at knockers 3 weeks ago 6 year old with thousands thrown at it a 380, and 400bhp escorts ran rings round it and the evo drivers pretty handy.

 

 

You can't compare a 14 yr old Escos against a far newer Evo... it's a no brainer!

With Evos you pay your money to mod them..... an Escos you pay your money to mod them AND to keep them on the road.

 

I take it you did not see me at ford fair then in a Red EVO 9 FQ340

They are very quick mate and best of all Reliable, i have had a 6 and now got the 9 and even the 6 was much better that my Escort.

But what i will say is i will never sell the escort as it has held its value in 5 years i have had it and i think the prices will hold very stable.

And as for top speed they do a lot more that 150

 

Depends what you're after..

If you're after a new car which has no problems, starts 1st time, works whe you slag it, takes all the abuse, looks the part and goes like stink. Then get an evo.

If you want something different, something with pure bred appearance and presence, something that makes you tingle, something that can still cut it with 14 year old designs, something that will never loose too much in value, something that makes you feel like a 10 year old kid, something that started off all the competition and something that has a character and personality, doesn't rely on computers to get it round a corner and just makes you go PHWOOARRR!!! then get an Cossie.

Completely different cars, why do you think people build them with mad power and trick mods that make them handle? They are the beginning the middle and the end when it comes to road going rally cars. They're dated and not very good in comparison to todays standards, but they're fucking sex! Sod getting an Evo, be different.

and they cant catch up and theres a few down my way ok

You've got over 500bhp according to your sig, it's not hard to pass a Mitsi Evo over 120mph for me Evos are about way more than straight line speed

or passionevo and ditch the ford theme all together

 

Your car is nearly ready.. easily done by the weekend (as long as we track down the ECU ) . I reckon you will gain interest once you start driving it again.
