Default Got my first cossie!!

And its already broke

Completely in love with the car picked her up on friday drove her home from northampton and dhe didnt miss a beat, checked the oil etc next morning all seemed well so off i went mate visiting.

Noticed a missfire anout 5600 rpm so i chatted to a mate who just happened to have his old champion plugs laying about so i set gaps to .5mm and it was sweet as a nut loving every minute of it.

Later in the day i checked the oil again to find a little bit of mayonaise on the dipstick but the oil in the head was fine, i checked the headnuts were still tight and they were,i then decided to bypass the oil cooler and change the oil to see if this was the problem, but it has continued to mix which i find very strange i am thinking the worse i.e cracked head??

Anyway gonna order a steel cometic item tom morn rip the head pff give it a light skim and hopefully this will be enough, something was bound to wrong at some point but its just a bit gutting for it to happen so soon. The joys of cosworth?

Why do you assume a craked head? could just be the headgasket.

A cracked head will give the same syptoms. I did 2 head gasket swaps on a car once many years ago before I realised the head was cracked.

the car is running 34 psi which i think i may back off slightly, but then its not gone from cylinder to whatever this is why im very suprised its lost its seal between water and oil

dont wanna piss you off anymore mate but my 2wd was exactly the smae ran perfect but mixed oil and water and had a slight misfire.

Took the head off to find a crack between water jacket and head bolt .

Really hope you dont have the same.
