Default Rev counter on a mk6 ford escort

i've looked for months for a guide on this, but gotten nowhere

My car is a escort CL 1998 R plate.
And it came with the destruction derby car picture on the dash instead of a rev counter.

i fitted a set of RS2000/GTI White dials to it everything works speedo ect

but the rev counter doesnt

i've heard some stories it needs wireing up, Or its not plugged in properly

can someone get me a guide on this.

Very much apreshiated

Odd.... Never seen that before??

Sure it's not lurking in there behind the fan motor?

There will be a connection on the engine loom to main car loom multiplug that will have a feed for the rev counter on it

Yours has internal EDIS, so no module in the engine bay, like mk3 fiestas and mk5 escorts have! Internal means in the ecu, so give up searching now

To be honest, it should have worked straight away. Even 1.3 & 1.4 engined escort mk6s can get a working rev counter by swapping some standard clocks.

Double / triple check your installation first. Those multiplugs on the back are a bit of a coont.

I swapped my one a while ago and luckily had the wire already there

Just found the thread I started and it would probably be better than that other link, as yours should have the same clock set as my one did. Its got more specific info on what to wire up
