Tubular manifold, what do we think
Esp the experts, esp looking at the last pic, the inside of the collector.
The flow in the collector is supposed to be one of the most important bits and its obviously had lots of work smoothing and porting the collector (not finished yet either), rather than just welded up and left like almost all others.

It Wasnt Me!
well seeing as no one loves u enough to reply steven, i reckon all the tubes r same length, which is important, so it looks ok upto their, the flange thingy, i dunno....

Yeah for a seriouly decent manifold all the tubes need to be exactly the same length. But I must admit that does look good.
Still not sure what bolts up to the flange, cus if its a turbo then whats the second pipe for?

does the wastegate take gases from all cylinders?
no.6 cylinder bend looks a little tight where it leaves the port
and that manifold/flange will crack as there isnt any expension gaps

Karl-
Spiky- I dont know, just looks like a pretty manifold to me, thats why im asking what experts think...
Gareth- Cheers, wastegate takes gasses from the flange (tho lil hard to see in that pic) so yes, think 6 looks tight from that camera angles, TBH if look careful i dont think tighter than any others, and what you mean by expansion gaps?
Its not finished, but not sure whats left to do

Dan, no, itsa Nissan RB26 head n Nissan/Holden RB30 block.
Lewis, if you can explain how i can get a cast manifold to fit the turbo im running and flow whats needed, il use one
Not sure on cracking but know lots of other people with similar manifolds from same people with no issues.
You have trouble Lewis as yours is barely braced so have the weight of manifold, turbo, and some of exhaust pushing on the manifold so nut suprised it breaks! Look at RallyX cars for example, loadsa bracing on their manifolds etc.
Matt, yus

Well whoever made it,cant be the same person who fitted it...as having to write "top" on the manifold tells me that he didnt trust the intelligence of the fitter..ROFL

IMA- Its jus trial fitted to a engine to make sure its right, the TOP thing is because of "usualy" have different ex manifold stud positions and easy to get mixed up, and u end up with an upside down manifold, lol
Gareth- Not cheap there, but is here. Thank god for favourable exchange rates

i also believe zorst wrap to b a cuase of the crackin so i have left it off this time round!

Mike if i had designed the manifold it would have been supported , but Cosworth parts aint exactly to military spec. Manufacture has been told what to do & i believe the design has now changed. The young designers of today dear oh! dear not like the old days

i agree with mike,
it needs some severe stress releeving on the interals and external angles, even the nicely nicely wleded hks ones on the evos crack for fun cos the edge of the welds are stress raisers and when its F hot and cools down, thermal stress causes cracks.
