hit it with a hammer works like a charm every time

I think because of where they're located they get hot and seize? Don't know if theres a shield or something for them sure someone else will have a more sensible answer

ford do a heat shield for the starter . Have the same problem on my fiesta. Ive lagged the manifold and put this heat shield on mine.

I still get the problem sometimes but i think its more down to my battery being in the boot . So i will be re wiring that soon

Have you got the starter motor heat shield fitted which clips onto the turbo oil drain hose?
