Depends on how much money you want to spend really
If you bought RS2000 engine mounts, sump, oil pickup etc etc it will bolt straight in. Parts are becoming more expensive though
The 2 litre SOHC will bolt to the 1.3 gearbox if you use 1.6 flywheel but engine mounts and sump will still need sorting with a mig welder and hammer.
You pays your money and makes your choice.

It is pretty straight forward mate. Did it years ago, and as i recall all you will need to get is the RS2000 sump if the engine did not come out of an escort.

There was a step by step guide of how to do this in a Classic Ford mag a few months back. Dont think its too hard to do, gearbox tunnel would be the only drawback I know of

For the money it costs, use the RS2000 parts - sump/oil pickup/dipstick, engine mounts, alloy bellhousing and gearbox/clutch release arm + gearbox mount and spacers (either 4-speed Pinto box or early 5-speed Type9 Sierra box), RS2000 standard 2-piece prop (or one-piece better if you can find one).
If u use the pinto 4-speed you will need to move the gearstick aperture back on the tunnel, as it comes up further back than standard car. If u opt for 5-speed, you will need to do the same, but also move the gearbox mounts back 80mm as well.
As Dave says, you could just use the 1300 box (and prop etc) with a suitable flywheel/clutch, but don't expect it to be too reliable..
oh, and don't give a shit what your mates think just enjoy it!!

4 doors make good sleepers, I had a 3 litre 4 door Mk1 that went very well in a straight line. I used to sit in the fast lane of the dual carriage way at 50 mph in second gear and wait for some knob in a XR2 to flash me out of the way
