Know what you mean though Rad..I can't take my car to Uni and the train station is about a mile away..that's going to be a lovely walk in the dark down the backstreets..

I walk to work
Bus it to uni.
share a lift to rugby.
so, in effect i dont need a car at all, probably part of the reason i sold the beemer.
Luckily i got full use of my mums motor, so for going out, visiting mates, going a run etc etc, i tend always to have a car.
Still want my own though, not the same without it

Radders. I've been without a car since May when I sold the pug.
It's nuts.....
Luckily I'm on leave so I can just sit about the house and shit. But when I do go someplace I have to get the train...............

Can manage without them, but people soon get pissed off when your blagging lifts all the time. I live in the middle of bloddy nowhere as well which doesn't help when you need to pop down the shops.
Kit car has no roof and isn't water resistant in any way, so when its working I can only use it when its not raining.
Capri has been off the road for 3 weeks cos caprisport can't pull their finger out of their arse and I can't do anything about it cos its always pissing down.

I only passed my test a year and a bit ago, I got a new job a few weeks back and that is in a place where public transport is a pain in the arse so I would say because it gives me my bread and butter my car really is important to me.
I could easily go back to trains etc if required but i would be totally lost without my car because I've got used to the indipendance and freedom it gives me.
