If someone is stupid enough to put in a bid over the buy it now price, it will dissapear.

Ebay used to be set up that when a bid was received any buy it now price was automatically removed. That feature was removed ages ago.

I really can't see the point of that, you pay extra to list a buy it now too

Now, if somebody wants to buy it now - I have to fanny around ending the listing!!

Any bid removes the buy it now option (if there is no reserve I think).

If I spot something I want with a buy it now I stick a starting bid on it to remove the buy it now

Just read this.......

There's no need to choose between the auction option and Buy It Now. You get both. If a buyer is willing to meet your Buy It Now price before the first bid comes in, your item sells instantly and your auction ends. But, if a bid comes in first, the Buy It Now option disappears. (In Reserve Price Auctions, Buy It Now disappears after the first bid that meets the reserve.) Then your auction proceeds normally.

WHY would ANY seller want that to happen???

Unless the item is going to sail over your buy it now price??

GAY!! Thats what I think!!
