a....cross sectional area of scroll "tube"
r.....distance from the center of the "tube" to the turbine shaft

think of it this way,....
a cossie ex housing is a/r .48.....this will effectively FIT more gas in the housing, than say an rst ex housing that is .36

from what you have put, the a/r of your current turbo is bigger....

which side is the 70 a/r....

the bigger the a/r on the compressor side, will increase the speed at which the air will pass through....
and bigger on the ex side, will give more lag....

the secret is getting both right, otherwise there chance of spike, over un and other not nice suff.....lol

stu gave an impressive essay on this a few weeks back

carl there was hardly any lag on the standard turbo b4 this and this one is not for off standard, its ported but was ported at the factory and not by a turbo shop, its got a increased waste gate to help stop boost creep

.86 ex housing seems excessive...
considering its only 60 trim comp side....
also, it wont be a standard "t3"
the compressor housing will need to be adequate size to take larger wheel...

will need to be 4x4 cossie size

well, look at cossies....

55, 2wd
60 4wd

yet the housings are .48.....

so your comp wheel is 60, and the ex housing is almost twice the size of a cossie one....
will cause huge amount of lag.....

i meant in relation to a .48 ex housing,..
you would be very surprised if you changed to .48...

also, im sure it starts boosting at 3k, but i bet its not full boost, and prob doesnt reach full boost till 4.5k ish....????
