Default Controversial Post???????

So i read about the thefts on National Day and all the other cossies like Bruce's etc going missing...My take on this....

You all got cars that some are worth stupid amounts of cash..BUT you keep to the same shonky lock sets, obvious crap alarm/immobilisers ...Aint security in these cars a bit more important than your bling bling parts????....

I raise this issue as everyone is saying the culprits were of low intelligence....well then the ones broken into/stolen were obviously very poorly secured for such chimps to be able to actually get in and turn the cars over or start them up.

I bet the Security on National Day were assuming you guys would seriously have your cars with all the lastest gadgets ie tracking at the very least Dont give these a hard time cause bling bling is more important!..You got the most stealable cars in Britain due to them being worth more in parts..............Look after them.

i thought this after seeing all the stolen threads.

as much as damage is a pain in the arse, at least your car is still there!

just thought about this and i was about to agree with you, but look at another angle...

these are track cars... like race cars in a sense... everything about them is designed with one thing in mind... making a car go faster round a racetrack. adding bits n peices like trackers and alarms n stuff have no purpose on a racetrck, and will afect performance (however minimal) due to weight etc. etc. (even tho having a shit before getting in will probably lose more weight... lol)

so the focus/emphasis on keeping the cars secure must be aimed at the physical security of keeping the theives away from the cars to start with...

ie garages with decent locks etc. etc (ie im sure the sierras kept ina pretty secure garage most of the time)

when taking it to anywhere outside you have to rely on the security in place... or stay with the car... so if the car's left somewhere overnight (be it at donno or in a garage like say MSD's unit etc.) then you have to trust the security inplace of stopping people getting into that place...

unfortunately in the case of donno the security was a joke (based on what ive heard!)

Did Bruces 500 not have a tracker and top alarm ?

What I find more worrying is that to me it looks like steal to order ? specific cars were / are being targeted, laptops etc missed or ignored it just doesnt add up to opertunists to me.

Also surely some of the hotels in the area would have been easier targets if it was random thefts ?

put it this way boys, if there professional enough, and want the car enough, there's nothing you can do to stop them.

Its all well and good saying they need top alarm systems but it shouldnt need it anyway if people done their jobs properly and sadly whatever alarm you have, if they want it that much, they will get it.

Short of building your very own Batcave, theres fuck all you can really do

sounds like they had a shopping list to me! targeting that norweigen escos for example - they must have known what was in front of them!

security sounds as if it was a complete joke - i agree with jim - track cars are meant for that purpose & if i had 1 then i defo wouldn't invest money in a tracker. but id defo put a tracker on my road going RS500!

Agree with ryan if they want it no matter what u got they will take it and if they dont take it they make a good job of fookin it for you. Id rather they took the car instead of knowing some pikey coont has been in it and then ragged the fuck out of it

Why should you have to think about the in car security when you have already paid for alleged top quality security in your RSOC membership and the ticket price?

As pointed out a lot of the cars are track cars/weekend toys so security isn't an issue for some people

Security should be to blame. None should have been able to get to the cars full stop.

And pro scumbags can find a tracker b4 the car gets found in most cases! IMO if you have a car like that you just DONT leave it anywhere dodgy! These werent left anywhere dodgy this weekend as there was paid security on,,,,who did fook all and as such are as bad as the criminals themselves! Hope they get arse fucked someday!

Correct.

It never normally gets left ANYWHERE to be honest, BUT as we said earlier, security will be getting upgraded to a simply staggering level.

We have had one warning, we don't need a second.

snap off steering wheels, and wheel clamp sales are gonna rocket soon...

as said, if its desperatly wanted etc it will just get dragged on to a flatbed if it cant be started.

maybe we could come up with a security device such as a massive battery pack that electrifies the car, so if any pikey fukka so much as touches it they get a belt and instant death

Reality is if they want it they'll get it.
Rob your keys, or car jack you.
I agree with you a little Jim about the weight issue, but at the end of the day a 2kg alarm is not going to make that much difference on any road car.

I couldn't really give a fuck about the weight.

If I was that concerned about shaving another few kilos off the cars weight, then I should be ploughing my money into a race car, and not a track day toy.

Mine was built with a full alarm system in it, tracker, disklock, loads of manual security measures etc etc...........

........... do everything you can to put them off - this is why:

That's my car, 3 seconds after the alarm went off. Clifford, Disklok, CCTV etc etc................

im going to agree with Gollum on this one, the cars arnt everyday road cars, there track cars and SHOULDNT NEED much sercurity, from what ive read since getting back from National Day, im shocked at the sercurity at the show

HOW THE FUCK can some SCRAWNY LITTLE SHIT get into and have access to such well known cars, GOD KNOWS what the guests must think, them being the Norwegians, if i was them i wouldnt want to EVER come back to an English show again!

im TRUELY Dissapointed with what ive heard and read, ive not much more to add apart from i REALLY hope this does not happen again!!!

Brom...

I've been thinking about this before..

Get your tracker installed- you know the wiring in your car better than anyone.

Take the car home and find where the tracker box is. Now take your dash out and weld a box over it and attach it to the bulk head

Best Idea I could come up with

any alarm wont deter somebody if they want it end of the day its in the middle of no where in a pit garge if the alarm was going off they would just smash the window find the alarm and smash it uo will it stops makein noise
the fact mine dont have any keys would prob make it easyer to nick aswell the only key is the tailgate and even karl carnt crawl threw the rear cage and seats
