Default No bonnet Is it legal?

I dont know if anyone has asked this before but does anyone know if you can legaly drive your car without a bonnet on public roads?

Deffo a no no, sharp edges, exposed moving parts etc etc.

Why not? looks pukka on a sorted bay and would give better cooling on a hot day I wouldnt want to have it off all the time just occasionaly.

Buggies engines are at the back, bikes, are concealed to an extent.

Yes but a baja bug reversing into you is Rare

And for a bike to hit a person is not as easy as in a car.

This is why motor manufacturers have crumple zones bonnet wings and soft bumpers all for pedrestrian safety

And aero dynamics will be reduced

Surely with no bonnet on it will mess up the airflow through the engine bay

Well i really want a carbon bonnet but would like to have it removable so i could OCCASIONALLY have it off the car. I just wanted to know if i took the bonnet off the car and drove down the street wiv it off will the porkers throw the book at me?

This is what they will say:if you hit a person, instead of rolling off a bonnet they could get a limb trapped in your running engine etc etc.

And then there's a matter of being sued/fined/jailed cos your car won't be insured in that condition.

TBH not sure if anyone would insure it like it

As for Hot Rods they have there own club type insurance and maybe able to do this as its not a production car more of a show/custom
