Default Engines for mahooosive BHP

Been thinking about my next project. Premature I know was the cab is now only half complete.

But the big thing on my mind it BHP out put, I wanna go for something totally mental. Was thinking cossie power. But you can realisticly only get 450bhp before you start spending silly money for more power.

So what other engines could I use? preferably Turbo/Supercharged, size is not a problem is this one will probably be mounted into the back of a car.... I shall say no more....

Ford 302ci (5litre) V8. Bacic 16valve single cam pushrod engine, but good, and silly cheap.

Not really any bigger than the XR V6 either.

Twin turbo it.

1000bhp+ potential (hell, thats only 200bhp per litre, equivelant to a 400bhp 2litre, which frankly is fuck all for any turbo engine)

Even a VERY basic twin turbo conversion would net you 500bhp (only 100bhp per litre) and crazy amounts of torque.

Set of 8 steel rods or forged pistons are like 350quid

Pair of mental heads are abotu the same.

Can buy a Dart block thats meant to be good for about 2000bhp for under a grand if i remember right.

BTW this engines a direct fit into a Sierra and to a T5 box, as was fitted with both as standard in South African XR8s.

I had a feeling you meant somthing small, just thought id mention it fits straight in a sierra.

Contemplated it myself in a sierra, but the cost of arch/transmission/suspension/tyres thatd make the car able to put the unbelivable power i wanted to the ground properly made it fookin expensive.

Shame as making a mental power engine from one is bloody cheap!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...e=STRK:MESE:IT

Forged pistons as std on the later ones.

Responds very well to nitrous.

Get a cheap shell and stick all the gear in it.

Before power, sort out decent brakes and suspension.

Power is nothing without control.

I have seen a Mk2 fiesta was featured in classic ford about a year a go. had both a supercharger and turbo. at idle it would develop 10psi. At 3,000k thou a throttle between the supercharger and the turbo would open cus the turbo would be producing more boost than the charger.

Wicked bit of kit!

Mac, unless you going for totaly silly power like 1000bhp, a 5litre+ V8 will have no lag and crazy amounts of torque at all revs anyhow so a supercharger too will be pointless complication.

Like i said-
www.toohighpsi.com
well cheap well powerful turbo v8s

BTW if your going V8, order bits from USA, its crazy cheap over there
