CD Rom problems
Recently I've had afew problems with my cd rom reading cd's.
Usually when you put a cd in it will automatically open whatever it is and now it doesn't If you go to your cd drive on the desktop and open that it doesn't show any files ?
I've just taken the pc back to the shop in town that built it as i wanted the cd rom replaced, they tried 2 new units on it and they both done the same thing.
All the interal cables have been changed so its not that either, IF you hold the cd rom after you have loaded it with a cd you can feel it spin a few times then it stops as if there is nothing in there ?
Something isn't right thats for sure tried re-installing the drivers and updating my pc but that also made no difference.
Anyone on here good with these odd faults ?
The guy at the shop said he had a similar fault with a pc once that turned out to be something to do with the registry settings ? not something I fancy playing with tbh.
All I need to do is put some damn music on my pc so I can get it on my Ipod for the cannonball
Any advice ?

I totaly agree mate.
I only kept the pc for now as I need it to get a lot of maps and files off before I go away on friday.
Itunes problems is minor but bloody irritating, I will leave it with them for the week I'm away as there are many thing not right with it since I got it.
I was just trying PF as amazing what people actually know on here !

If i've read that correctly its just not reading the disc at all?
So its not to do with the CD autoplay function?
I would have suggested checking autoplay was enabled, and that it was set to ask you everytime a disc was put in, but if its simply not reading anything thats in the disc drive i'm not too sure?

It doesn't work on anything mate.
I only want it to work on Itunes for now but that wont have it.
What is strange is that it did sort of read a totally fooked Coldplay cd last night, but it was so knackered it wouldn't copy it, I brought a new copy and it wouldn't read it
Has a mind of its own ! but I just thought the noises coming from it would be the fault but as we have now tried 2 new units on my pc and they do the same thing so its some other hardware/software related problem.
