Default what did you think of the lunch time parade

me i thought it went on to long and was very boring ,this year i dident go on track decided to watch for a change ,but i felt a bit sorry for all those track entrants who paid for the track time , the f1 van was out for 10 minutes in every hour before sessions probley giving courtsey rides to the club comittee ,parade lap went on far to long series 1 and series 2 escorts doing 30mph ,the only saving grace about the lunch time was the historic f1 cars well pleased with that ,and the way the pit wall filled up, and the infield grandstand was full so that was a bit of a bonus for a lot of people

I was on track in my MKII Escort and whilst the extended dinner was a bind the track time was extended by an hour to compensate.

Was wank mate. IMO people go to this show to see some of the top fords in the country get ragged round the circuit.

Might jus be me but I think the parade laps are a total waste of good track time, everyone knows wot an RST looks like and same gos for the other models bein driven to speeds upto 30mph.

Van was cool to see once not all day. Dont see why it had to be on track on its own either. Wasnt exactly rapid or owt.

Less bullshit = more tracktime.

The Supervan was ok, amusing maybe, shame it's not got the F1 engine anymore

The Ford display was poor, ok the GT was good but I was real dissapointed that the WRC car was just some replica. What was the point in that
Shame they didn't roll out any really big guns, real WRC cars etc

F1 cars were great

And yea, what was with that Escort Parade lap?
Don't see the point in any parade lap personally, just find them boring

Erst parade lap may have been boring for some. For me it was my first show in my first Rs and meant a lot to me, to be on that parade lap. Least of all the fact I got my series 2 rebuilt then had it stolen after having it on road for only 3 months before being stolen.
I re-shelled it at more cost. To be on that parade lap today made it all my worthwhile.

If you wanna go on track, go on track.

the parade lap for spectators is VERY DULL LOL.....

I understand its good fun for the people doing 40mph round dono but i thought it was a track day and show, and i reckon 90% of people think the parade lap and lunch time show was pretty lame...

I personally have a top day on track, but just saying lunch was boring whilst i was eatin it LOL

yeh i see what you saying, but for me as much as i'd like to have "ragged " me car round the track i'm a bit "concerned" like about smashing it up lol.

I like the track racing dont get me wrong, but if this was a parade of cossies, it wud be differnet then wudnt it?

One day ill get another motor to thrash around the track in. Maybe a cossie seeing as PF seems to be about em all the time.

why would it be different for cossies ,if you want to go round the circuit you should pay for track time like all the track entrants ,they paid for the track time and the parade time took track time of those entrants ,i know it went on a bit longer to compensate but a lot of people live a long way from donno ,and might have liked to have the track time in the lunch period ,so if they want a parade lap for those cars why not hold it at the end of the day and then you will see how many people stop to see it

parade lap went on far to long series 1 and series 2 escorts doing 30mph
OI! I agree with Rich, it made a change, and we were hardly on for long 2 laps! Still agree with the rest it made me feel good to get my car round the circuit for the parade, ppl put in a lot of hard work to get thier cars ready. Roll on next year!

Hey for the people involved in doing the ERST parade lap it was excellent, sorry that they arent to everyones taste and you found it boring, but alot of other ERST drivers did amire the parade laps and the 100 or so people taking part loved every minute of it.

Lets hope you never do a parade lap Dingy, we wont be able to tell the different between your fast laps and your parade laps

Last year was mint for us track goers.

Got enough time to have a wander, and get some grub.

Then back in time to see the WRC Focus thrash it round.

Great, I'm glad everyone in the RST parade lap had a great time.

Why did we have to witness it tho.

Next time why not hold the parade lap at the nearest bit of dual carriageway and leave the track clear for what it's designed for

Each to there own,
some went for track action,
some went for parade lap,
some went just for the whole show, no matter what you do you can't please every one.

the F1 cars tuck up track time as they were due on track at 12.40,(although a S1 broke down so it delayed the time they came on) track time finish's normaly at 1pm!!!!! the lunch hour is for the staff at donny to have there lunch so there would be no cars on track AT ALL, so why is it such a big deal that they have a parade lap, they wasn't taking up track time as it wasn't due to restart untill 2pm anyway. if you find it dull, don't watch!!!!

I didn't realise that tbh.

As long as the parade lap doesnt effect the track time available then feel free to ponce around like fairies all lunchtime

the track still had to be supervised by donnington officials parade laps or track action, marshells ,paramedics, fire /rescue,ambulance,tow truck , so why cant the parade laps take place at the end of the day ,and let the track action carry on ,like i said earlier, then you would see just how many stop and watch this

then when would the donny staff have there lunch??
how many stafff does it take to look after a parade lap?? it's not like any of them was going to spin off at 120 mph into a corner,
if the parade lap tuck place at the end of the day you would still moan about the parade lap taking up track time, cus according to you, you need all the donny staff to supervise this when they could be supervising ppl who want track time, the donny staff have homes to go to as well, easy solution is to do it in lunch hour when RSOC can supervise and the staff have there dinner, cus ethier way, there WILL ALWAY be an lunch hour Break!

why make such alot of fuss over 2 bloody laps of the parade with the rs turbo it was better than the super van and that spent more time on the track but i dont see many making a fuss over that. some time ago i remember the r.s 500 cosworth having a parade on the track i bet no one made any fuss over that did thay.

i must admit the rest was very poor.
