Default Training in a store far far away...

Got a question that somebody on here might be able to answer

i work for a well known high st computer retailer and live 5 mins away from the store i work in. Recently they've started asking ppl to go to training sessions in another one of our stores, with is abotu 25 miles away and takes about 45-60mins to get there on teh motorway or 1h 30m by train and bus. Initially it was only for 2 sessions. My first session was on saturday so got up extra early and drove for 50 mins to be there for a 9 o'clock start when my shift starts. However, the training had been cancelled the day before but no body had bothered to phone me to tell me. I get a fuel allowance but am slightly annoyed cos it's basically hour and a half round trip at least and i dont get paid for my travveling time there cos my shift starts at 9am. left my house at 8:10 when normally leave at about 8:55am. Now i've been rota'd in for 3 more training sessions there over teh next three weekends with travelling down there considered to be my own unpaid time. I'm annoyed because i'm supposed to wrk in my local store and now they asking me ot go to this other store for the next 3 weekends at least. I only wrk there part time at the weekend, i'm not there for a career or anything, and one of the main reasons i wrk there is it's 5 minutes from home!

I wondered if anybody knows the law about sending me to different stores miles away etc?

Thanks

Never work in retail mate you will always be treated like a complete twat. Took me ages to realise. My traveling time is all bookable time and my company pays for it. When I worked for Iceland they tried to fob me off with 10p a mile and wanted me to drive my RS and park it up at the store in Hemel and leave it in the multi-story. Had a right row with them as I told them no way on earth

mate erm,,,,,,, in reality you cant claim for travel unless its agreed at the time

just decide how much you like your job

then ffs rememeber that some people spend a min of 1:30mins each way to and from work each day

you got it easy mate and your moaning when you have to travel a extra 30mins or so

my advice,,, relise that lifes a bitch at times

you think thats bad, wait till you have to pay council tax

Ha ha...

I kno what ur saying mate. And when i worked in london i travelled for ages each day and didn't mind. But this is just a crap job to tied me over and cant be bothered travelling all that way without extra pay for a rubbish training session.

Guess i'll just have to grin and bear it until i get something better.

Cheers
