was good to talk to some new faces from the other side of the pond.
SVONY:Too much boost usually does make it a banger though! pop, bang, dead but i must admit boost is a great thing and does give such a great driving experience, had a blown car now for 10 years pretty much and i love em.

NIL... I have to agree, boost can get addictive and expensive if not used in moderation (I've had my share of melted pistons) but for me it just the ability to putt around town in an economical 4cyl (notice i didn't say banger this time ) and still have the power on reserve to compete with most V6/V8, especially being in the land of V8 muscle cars.
To date I've owned 8-9 Mustangs of various levels of modification and the performance I get from my cossie powered 3dr replica probably is the best all around car so far. It's definitly not the most powerful or the best handling but it weighs less than any other car I've built (2910lbs.) and rides much nicer (love the independent rear suspension).
My last Mustang, sold this about 4 years ago. 1985 1/2 SVO 2.3L Turbo 1 of 439 made that model year.

if u wanted a cossie that much would it not be best to find a cossie in the uk with good engine box seats diff ect ( maby see if any one was close to one and would have a look for you ) but a shit shell import it to you and convert all the parts over to your car and scrap the shell so u would be left with a cossie powered / look alike XR4TI possibly wouldnt cost massive amounts ?

Once the car rolls, have wheels an engine, box, etc. then it's subject to all the rules and regulations (DOT/EPA).

American, Smarts and winged Caballo... OMG that is some funny shite! I too would have thought that winged was about 15!
Winged, if you REALLY want to make that XR into a Cossie rep. I'd ask/look at SVO NY's car. To date it is one of the most cleanest well put together cars I've seen and I've been going to the UK for years now just for the shows and his is Minty fresh clean! I bet that if you saw his car you wouldn't know it was an XR (unless you know what to look for).
You can also get yourself over to Merkursport (my forum) and join us outkast of Merkur owners.

yeah i see ya point, its a shame you cant have the real deal over ther,i'd love to move out there and bring my baby with me!i'd be well up for playing with some of the big oys in their toys.im bad enough here,if its got a badge a cred better than me ie porsche, ferrari, aston etc im game for a laugh.
nice 'stang that! but not keen on the bi-plane rear spoiler.
MORTO:thats a very narrow minded view of the car world. i have full respect for anything that can go fast, thats why i like the yank tanks and rice rockets as well as what i run.
