Unfortunately this car has no value, it is purely only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.
If the ball was in my court then I would pay between 7 and 8K for it, no more..

It has done 3500 miles since a full and proper rebuild, it has cosworth 7.2:1 pistons, all the bits that wear have been replaced, it's been balanced and has a ported head to 400hp spec... still think i'm miles out?

as i said if he wants to give his parts away thats up to him ,BUT, to say others are Jealous 
why would we be jealous ??
The man has no overheads and is prepared to sell parts for way way under there true value , good luck to him , but i think i am quite happy selling parts at the true value .
I cant be that expensive Mark as i cant buy the cars quick enough to meet the demand ,

A std 3 door in mint con is nowe 8 to 10k
A std 500 in mint nick is now 15 tp 25k
so a reshelled hpi clear 500 with some of the correct parts missing but in very good condition and some good spec parts must be worth just under a good con std 3 door ( 6 to 7 k )
Will break for more , so well worth the 7k and if you get board and only get the stupid 3 to 4k offers for it , you just break it and get even more than you paid , but i would think it would resell for 6 to 7k no probs ,

im not saying you are more expensive, as ive never bought anything from you, but from what you have said, you and pete are more expensive by your own admissions.
if your business is doing well, alls good, why have a pop at tim for selling for less than yourself ?
ive been in the cosworth world for over 10 years so im not new to it like alot of people, i know what i would and more importantly have paid for parts for them, and still when i need parts i find them at the price i want to pay or i dont buy , so whos right and whos wrong ???? should i pay more or the parts i want because on passion ford you say that what im paying is not the true value ? should i ring you and pay more ? its just not going to happen. as more people realise there are parts out there for less than the mainstream advertisers pay ( i see your adverts in the comics along with petes and a few others) then people will buy them, pretty simple really. your catchment area is the likes of the young lad who runs his car everyday and needs parts to keep it on the road, reads FF, or PF or what ever, and if he knows no different the he is your customer. i do run my own business and i know about advertising and customer retention, i see over 70 different customers a week in just one of my areas of trade. believe me passionford does not make the world go round.
i would also like to bet that before the likes of ebay and internet international trading your business may well have been more profitable, as you had alot less choice in immediate suppliers for your needs ( ie cosworth parts).
some people come and some people go in business, its takes good business sence to stay in business, but also even more important regular customer base.

As for tims workshop , does he rent it ?? as i was told it belongs to his Mum and Dad , not that it matters tho as i dont care about anyones overheads other than mine
Also , I hardly ever post cars i have for breaking on here anymore because as you correctly say my regular custom and my new all come from the mag adverts where people want quality parts at REALISTIC prices not pot luck e/bay shit
Evertone loves a man who sells parts cheap , apart from his bank manager , lol, we dont sell our parts at an inflated price because we are greedy we sell them at the price needed to get our money back and cover our overheads ,
The only possible way to sell parts very cheap is to get your cars for free or have no overheads . I pay good money for cars and have big overheads
As said Mark dont have a pop at us for being expensive just because your to tight to pay for quality goods with a quality customer service to go with it

paul im not having a pop at anyone for being expensive, its you rperogotive to have large overheads, then you have to pass this on to you customers to pay for your living, sometimes its a catch 22 scenario , to be able to buy in bulk you need large storage capacity, this comes at a price, some people have made there money and its just a hobby, some people dont rely on it for there full time income, i will still pay what i deam as realistic, ive looked at your website, ive seen wheels at realistic prices, if id have wanted them i would have called you, collected and paid, ask pete , if i say im buying im buying, im not tight, i dont buy shit thats of no use to me, if it has a purpose to me i buy if the price reflects what im buying and its use.
