My parents have a big 4 bedroom bungalow with a swimming pool big garage workshop, barn and stables with 7 acres of back garden

3 bedrooms are ensuite as well.

No neighbours either.

And you can see across to Dartmoor with only a few farm buildings in your view the rest is just rolling countryside.

It did not cost even a 1/4 of the price of the house on this post. (6 years ago)

Steve.

Seriously, if it wasn't for my friends who I would really really miss, I would move away and start afresh - probably up your way...

But I would miss my friends too much. Not fussed about my family mind

To be fair most of the Ex-council in our area has massivly improved and prices reflect that. Prob because so many have been bought up and kids have moved out/on

If I was to stay in the Abbey, then I'd *want* to be looking at the place opposite Waltham Point (the giant Sainsbury's monstrosity), the new gaffs round the back of the Marriot hotel or Howard Close, just off Farm Hill Road....

Sadly, I think unless they have any shared ownership schemes then all of the above would be out of my price range...

I have a few pennies, but I do mean a few pennies.... Like I could put up about £10k as deposit, but's thats about it - unless I carry on saving for it, but with my current earnings, I am only able to put away between £400 and £500 a month, and thats leaving me a SHOESTRING to enjoy (I use the term loosely lol ) life with....
