following on from a thread i did earlier, im really liking the idea of a skyline but after much consideration i think if i was going to go for one id probably sell my escort for one, my escos is very nice and im slightly worried i mite drop a clanger by getting one, shes done 29k miles and is minty mint, see the pics in my sig. ive never driven, or even sat in a skyline ( the r32 is the on im after) what would you rather have and more importantly why?
so escort cosworth, or skyline? which one and why? suits you sir?

That Skyline R32 GTR looks
love the grey ones best
I also like the Skyline R33 GT-R especially in midnight purple like this 1.

If they are both standard... the Skyline is the best car, no contest. If they are both 500hp then the escort does it for me. I have owned both at the same time.. They were both just under 600hp, the escort lived in the garage and the Nissan was on the drive but it was always the escort that got driven. But a long drive (1k+ miles) would mean Skyline usage! Best would be to own both at the same time and make your choice. All the above is based on a GTR33 V spec. Also don't forget Skyline have an addiction to fuel

me old man had a r32 and r33 and he still recons my saph was a more enjoyable drive and now ive got the escos i say that it a better ride/car than the saph. he got rid of both due to the fact that when they wernt wrong no one knew how to fix the buggers and most of the parts have to be ordered in from japan (and he got himself a gt 40 Wan%er and i cant fit in the bugger)
and to top it all off i nailed him at york drag raceway which pissed him right off.
never underestimate a 2wd saph

Had 3 r32 gtrs in the last 2 yrs including a big bhp machine, sound great, handle great, look great but after youve driven it a few times they,re just plain boring cos they do everything for you . just found you didnt have to be a good driver to drive too quick. They were the only model i wanted but ive gone bact to cossies. Do you really wanna pay Ł1k for a good clutch, Ł400 for a replacement screen etc or even uprate the turbos for Ł1500. you'd have to upgrade them to at least steel internals cos they only run at 0.9bar as stock, you'll also find real good tuners are few and far between. But given the choice id still probably have one instead of an escos. (being a 3dr man!!)

if your comparing a r33 with a esc cos then id take the escort and i never thought id say that...if it was a r34 vs a esc coz then that would be a different matter
But both different animals imo

Never driven a Skyline but out of a pure looks perspective I would never plant my arse in anything less than a R34 so its either that or an Escos.
Doesnt matter if the R32 is proper racer, its still hideous.

cosworths and skylines are in different world league categories........
im sure that what i say will be backed up by most cosworth owners.........
skylines should stomp all over cosworths due to the fact that they have an extra 2 cylnders and 0.6 ltrs that are being force fed by 2x ceramic coated turbochargers!

Love the escos to bits but Im biased towards teh blueoval.
Like said above it entirley rests with u we can only give uour personal opinions

what,....where you heard that....
33k for 650,......yeah sure,..
any for fook sake,.....ceramic coated wheels on skylines are fooking rubbish,......they melt after 1 bar.....
steel all the way,......
for me if i had 15k to spend,....id have an escos....if i had 25k, then gtr 34,...
saying that though.....could have a mint cossie instead of the import im waiting for.....

Got to say the only liner i would have over my Escos is the 34 in V spec of course, but remember if you had 35k you could have a mean old Escort that would take some passing.

My mates got a 33 GTR which he loves,I think the interiour (spelling) is really poor and the look of the car is a bit ugly.
He bought it with 44000 on the clock but he didn't know you have too rebuild the engine every 50000 miles
He payed Ł15.700 for the car last year and has just spent over Ł7000 rebuilding the engine uprating the Turbo's and stuff.
Dave.
PS they are a big car think Granada Scorpio size, drive both then make your own mind up.

Escort cosworth definetly compared to an r32, nice it has 2 turbo's and all but an escort just looks superb compared with an r32.
R34 well that's a different matter they look very good not that i would sell my escort for one
