Is it safe to do this and how loud is it ?

 

mine was removed on my escort cos as the box was damaged, had a straight piece welded in and to be honest didn't really make much difference in sound, maybe a touch louder ?

 

Will it fuck the turbo with less backpressure ?

 

Well mine has been running like that for well over 2 years and never had any problem at all ??

just sounds deeper, and throatier,...maybe a slight bit louder....

I agree does sound deeper on idle !! mine was mongoose too ..

My middle box was ruined as it was all split (Failed the mot on it) so had a stainless pipe fitted and it's made the car a touch louder when driving normally and quite a bit louder when giving it a boot-full on full chat

 

Yes mate get some stainless pipe, a garage did mine for £50 and refitted it.

 

Cool i work at an engineering company so might get a bit made up.

 

ive done this and the only problem is now it wont pass noise tests at trackdays

Mine has it too kev, i got it like that tho, think its a magnex, splits into two and should have both box`s but theyve been taken out cant realy say how it was before but it sound great just now, get it aff,

 

we did it to wennys bluething as he cept catching it on the floor no real diffrence in sound no idea about reliability as it is always broke lol
