Default Poly windows

Going to Polycarbonate the windows on my E30.

Just want to make sure before it is ordered.

Thickness, will 3mm be ok or will i need thicker?

i would go with the same thickness of the orignal glass,or you may have sealing issues with them sat in the rubbers?

Retro Al, i was just going to drill and rivet the windows into the original lip that the rubber used to sit on....

Not sure if 3mm will be thick enough to stop it just flexing about all the time.....

you'll need thicker than 3mm, think mine are about 5 or 6mm

i've just fitted some to my xr2 i did away with the window rubber and riveted them to the car .
the stuff they were made out of was plexiglass ( same as used in police riot shields )
i got the from plastics4perormance .
will dig out the number if you want it

You will need 5mm anything less they will flex to fluck

Dont bother with these clowns. Ive ordered two sets of windows for my Fiesta. The first set took ages to turn up, loads of broken promises on delivery. Due to a rebuild I stupidly ordered a second set and gave them a definite date they needed to be ready by. That came and went. I kept phoning and was given further dates. 3 months down the line I told him where to stick is windows.

i made my own 4mm on the side glass and 5mm on the rear window cos it kept crackin
