Default Wideband AFR Gauge's... Whats "the best"

As above, looked at the LM-1 and it looks good, but any others you'd recommend?

Preferably one that's an actual gauge to fit in say a pillar pod etc, than a hand help item.

What is better, digital or dial? I've heard good arguements for both...

Digital easier to get accurate reading... Dial easier to spot quick differences...

Cheers

I use the Innovate LM-1 with the XD-16 gauge. We have monitored its accuracy against the high-speed lambda equipment within the Dyno Dynamics RR and it is very good.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to get the LM-1 or the dynojet then?

Best I've found on the dynojet is £408

Yes!

We also use a MoTeC PLM, but at £1000, it's a little expensive to run on an end-user level!!

I reckon, off the top of my head, around £330 (plus postage) for the complete kit, which includes the Sensor, Stainless Sensor Boss to go in the exhaust, Bung for when you don't want the sensor in there, Gauge with choice of black or white fascia, lead and software for the PC and all the other associated hardware.

Innovate are streets ahead in terms of technology than others mentioned. You can't test one gauge against another - you have to test against a referemce - ie a reference gas with known oxygen content.

If you want the best, you won't use a Bosch LSU4 based system.. you'll use a proper NTK wide band lambda sensor.. unfortunately these come in at around £850+vat for the complete setup (well, without a gauge as such).. 8)

Otherwise.. I've personally had no problem with the Innovate stuff..

Innovate will take the NTK sensor. Paying for higly calibrated sensors is pointless with the LM-1 as it calibrates itself, and doesn't rely on the calibration resistor. Secondly, Expensive calibrated sensors are only good for a limited number of hours, as the calibration wanders. Great for people like Stu, not so great for most others lol.

the lc1 u can mount in a car. The LC1 is a controller, you can then connect the XD16 gauge to it. You can also connect a gauge to the LM-1 as well.

The innovate range is massive, u can log EGT's, duty cycle's, pressure's etc.

You could fit the LM1 in the car but its quite big. However, Innovate does a 52mm gauge with the wideband electronics built into its loom that will work almost the same as the LM1.

i've had a Tech edge for 2+years, and used it nearly everyday, as always fitted in one of my cars. both my cars were setup using it, and about 6 others too.

And on a DD rolling road, they both read the same.

http://techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/default.htm

My Brothers got a AEM set up, and think it cost him £170 all inc, I've not got round to testing it yet. but will do soon.

Be carefull if you are using any wideband sensor for mapping as I have seen some 1 AFR reading rich which is a big problem if you intend to run it lean,
I would as a min test any against a know Meter with a calibrated NTK.
