Ive been paying £25 a month since october 2004. I upgraded to a better contract and got a new phone in Decemeber 2005.
Am getting 500 free texts and 100 minutes. I was ok with this until my girlfriend just took out a £25 a month contract and got 750 texts and 750 mins with a new internet phone with free insurance!

So i figure i ring o2 up and ask what they can do for me, being as most of my bills are at least £40, ive been with them 2 years next month or so yet i am told they can do nothing at all what so ever until decemeber! What the eff? Is that right?

Is there no way of getting a better deal now? Or at least a new phone as mine is fooked! Anything i should say? I asked about leaving the contract they just said i have to pay £25 a month for the remainder!

u cant do anything till the end of ur 12month contract mate.

and i think you'll find the deal emma just got is for 18 months rather than 12 as well.

but in december ring them and say u'll leave unless u get the phone u want and a better tarrif.

thats what i just done.
i now get 500 minutes and 500 texts for 20 quid and thats on a 12 month montract.
its ment to be £25 like emmas but if u say ur gonna leave they will drop it.

they done the same for angi too.


but i think u'll also find that ur 100 minutes are any time. but emmas are only off peak.

I get 750 tests and 400 mins anytime for £20 a month on a 12 month contract as i told them i was going else where Bust as has been said you have to wait untill your contract is up!

tahts Crap simon i just oreder my new phone on orange, i got 1600 minutes anytime any network plus UNLIMITED TEXTS!!!!!! and only 70quid a month..... mate not even i can talk that much on the phone so hopefully i will be making use of the free text thing lol

Ther are a lot of companies out there that do huge cashbacks (look in The Sun newspaper or google etc. Take out a new deal with one of them now, and use the cashback to pay off your old O2 line. This will usually mean losing your mobile number unless you pay off your O2 contract first and request your PAC code (which allows you to take your number with you), then sign up for the new deal and give them your PAC code and your number will transfer over usually within 7 days.
