Default Bluefin advice pleeze

Mate has a RS Focus and been offered a bluefin chip for £150. Is this a good deal? Also, will the car need setting up in any way once fitted and how much bhp will this give or does it depend on the chip. He's been told 35 bhp. Does this sound right ? cheeRS

I have a Bluefin on my Mondeo ST

The Bluefin handset, once used with a vehicle will lock to that car. It cannot be used on another car unless it has been sent back to bluefin/superchips and been reproggramed

Check this first

The Bluefin is basically a plug and play re-map of the car......Once installed that is it.

Thanx TIFF. So according to that. . .

10% + VAT Trade in allowance

Return unit to us, completing the product return slip or a letter detailing the second-hand purchaser’s details, using the pre-paid sticker if available. Providing the unit is serviceable an allowance of 10% will be given for the old unit against the purchase of a new Bluefin (Nasp or Turbo). This allowance can only be used towards the purchase of a new Bluefin unit at full retail price, no other product.
if he sends it away he will get a 10% discount on a new chip. My post on the RS Focus section on here says new ones are around £450-£500. So he will save £45-£50 on a chip yet the guy wants £150 for it second hand. He's better off buying a new chip then, have i got this right ?
