just done oil change on ma cossie,the oil presure has dropped fi 22lb to 20 ,it also sounds very tappety, is this the norm?

How long have you let it run for after the oil change?

about 20 mins, then took it for a drive. it drives ok

It's still noisy? Even after the drive etc? Sure the oil levels ok? And did you use the right oil?

Oil level is ok,i used castrol rs 10/60 was told this was the best oil to use.

nah,the oil that came out was fairly clean.

Think it's supposed to be at least 35psi on tickover,somebody correct me if i'm wrong!

its a 3dr done about 89 thou the guy a bought it of said the head gasket was done about 87thou

oil pressure shouldnt be that low , what was it before you done the oil change??

Did you use a ford filter?? Not sure but would say that oil may be to thin

1,8 bar ie 26psi on tickover with standard oil pump.

A) Im wrong.
B) You are imagining this noise.

use mobil 1 motorsport. 15w50.
thats what i use cos mine did the same wi the castrol.(rs)

mine did the same on castrol, I cahged it for a different brand and it was fine again!

mines did the same as well, changed oil and sounded rattly as hell.

Think that the top end needs a while to fill its self properly with oil.

The tapping noise was gone in a couple of journeys
