Check that your cigarette lighter socket is working properly first.

Halfords are usually very good for refunds

Alternatively I think you can get an external aeriel for the road angel, so you can place it somewhere other than under the heated front screen.

How long have you waited for a signal?

I've waited ages - as long as 30 mins sometimes. Wait for 10 mins if it doesn't get a signal, unplug it then plug it in again.

Road Angels are notorious for taking a long time to pick up a signal.

Another way to do it to see if the unit is faulty, is plug RA in and put it on the roof of your car so it can pick up a clear signal, you might still have to wait 15 mins or more - when and if it does, then put it back in your car.

Heated screen means you have to use the optional antenna to get a signal

RA works fine in my cossie with a heated screen - I've had an RA Classic and now have an RA 2 along with a TomTom Go 700.

You might not have been getting a clear GPS signal in the cossie, try the roof method

Yes they do cash refunds as long as you have your reciept and paid in cash originally, if you dont have your reciept they will only exchange.
