Default Engine stand

Hi,

Looking for an engine stand suitable for rebuilding a zetec (2litre) whilst Im putting throttle bodies on.

Ideal would like a rotating one.

What weight range should I be looking at, there are some Clarke examples that seem very cheap.

how heavy is a bare shell? could you use two engine stands to rotate a shell while painting/scraping etc?

Yes. The stands on ebay are 750 kg and a fully assembled RST is around 1000 kg. 2 stands would hold a complete car weighing 1500 kg. Obviously the car would be stripped and weigh a lot less than even the 750 kg limit of one of the stands.

You would have to modify them though as the neck is angled backwards slightly.

I have a 1400Lb stand, EXTREMELY large stand, and 2 of these badboys would be ideal for spit holding a car

Ebay special too

even if it didn't turn the shell right over, it would at least get it too an angle to make it easier to get underneath, instead of laying down under it.
