come on mate, you have JUST passed your test to them and you wanna drive a 20k motor,,,,,,,, would you insure ME on a 20k motor when i just passed my test

not to mention ove 25 you get with companies that wouldnt quote when you was 21 due to not being competative

hell to insure a 1300 escort is gonan cost ya over a grand,,,,,,,, thats a car with no power and worht fook all

20k motor with a 2.2 aint a small motor is it

hell dont think there a small enough car for a "new" driver to be trusted it, youc ant see where the bonnet ends for a start

he can prob change companies and then you would get a rediculas quote based on you and his full no claims,,,,,,,, still gonna be over a grand i recon though

Dave - Best option is to get a shitbox for a year

Get some driving experience under your belt. If you do bash/bang it about then you haven't got it worry as it's a shitbox!

Beleive me you actually start learning to drive when your on your own in a car with no instructor...

Saying that i past my driving test 10 years ago yesterday. Awesome

Only been banned once so not bad going!

Had a bloke from Abbey National have a go at my missus when she phoned for a quote. He told her she shouldn't have brought the car and she'd not be able to insure it until she was at least 25. She'd been driving it for 2 years and had the renewal through for £500. She called the guy a twat and hung up on him

Love being an old duffer though as I insure all three cars for about £1200 a year

Ginge - I was banned when i was 19. Got done twice for speeding over 90mph

1st time was in my DIY RST. Got clocked going to work at 107mph. Got a 500 pound fine and 8 points.

2nd time was also in my RST. Was in a convoy going to Fordfair in 1998 and there was a good 5/6 of us beaning it. Anyway we all doing 95/100ish in convoy. Suddenly copper pulls out and tugs me because i'm at the back Had a camera on his bike...Handy!

Got done for overtaking on a double white line, driving without due care and attension and doing 94 in 70. Got took to court and raped! I got a massive £1000 fine 7 points for speeding and a 6 month ban for driving without due care and attension. I wasn't happy!

Just to say i learnt my lesson.......... Kinda

i remember you going fordfar or somink about 3 years ago on the m1, i was folloing that bloke who run the the asian chap over at the half way huse doing about 75ish,,,, max as he drives slower than miss daisy and you drove past everyone at slightly over 76ish,,,,,,, fuck me the noise it made,,,,,, you practically done a flyby,,,,,, it was that quick, just a roar and you was gone

not as bad as when jb moved me over on theoutside lane on the A3 about 5 years ago,,,, i was doing about a ton roughly in my orion when i looked in the rear veiw mirror to see top half of a bonet, wiper blades and a bloke pointing his finger on his right hand to move over,,,,,, he was that fucking close i swear,,,,,, then about 2 years later i met his brother and then jb poped round and i INSTANTLY reconsied it was him,,,,,,, not like you cant reconise his fingers

you, benn, pops and jb seem to use your cars proper

well that and the beds lot seem to enjoy driving too

its nice thought as theres nothing worse than having a convoy at 80mph

Do NOT bother with elephant. They are part of the Admiral group (along with Diamond). They are beyond crap. The quot emight be cheap but the cover is rubbish. You only find out how good/bad an insurance company is when you claim. My sister was with them and had a non fault accident, they were absolutely crap.

The point is. . 30 yrs old is a bit fucking ridiculous to accept someone is old enough to insure it!

I can insure my rs turbo for £1300 with no previous experience with bell (would they have to honour this if i booked it online?) . .

I can go on my mums corsa as a 3rd driver for an extra £14 a month. .

i'd be a THIRD driver, hardly use it . . and i didnt WANT to drive it, he offered

It's just ridiculous, i didnt expet it to be cheep nor to even get insure don it, but THIRTY YEARS OLD

yeah but its cause his company who his brokers are with may not cover you people on there policy mate

when i got my 1300 and insured it with 9 pionts i got offered a MINT tennis cabrio 3 months later for peanuts

i called to transfer my insurance and was told the company i was with wouldnt cover me with my experience/points/age/insurance group so i would have to cancel with them and get a new policy loocing my no claims too

so i didnt bother and i was just as pissed but trust me time will heal that

i aint got a clue of ya age mate but see if any company will cover you for driving other cars mate, i had that on mine and payed a extra 200 a year for it but i was worth it

now im in the car game i no longer am allowed that though
