Basically ive got a problem with my rear lights/brake lights! When the headlights are on it appears that my drivers side brake light is also on, however if i then brake the drivers side that was on prior to braking goes off and the passenger side brake light then comes on?!? Checked all the bulbs and connections to both rear clusters, 1 of the tail light bulbs had blown (well 1 of the 2 filaments inside it) but i replaced that and still have the same problem! Anyone got any tips for where to start tracking down this problem?? Obviously only a matter of time before i get pulled!!

 

mate its the connection thats needs polishing up mate, either that or the buld is in the wrogn way ( was it a tight fit to turn when ya installed it )


brish the connections and just look at the track to see if thees a birt join ect

 

Neil check that you have put the correct type of bulb in mate I.e not a single contact in a double contact holder as this will send the lights to buggery .

Or a double fillament bulb in upside down. Or the fillament has blown and shorted across to the other fillament.

 

No the replacement bulb is identical to the one i took out!! Bearing in mind that this problem was occuring before i changed the bulb!

 

So would u say its the connection from bulb to holder? I shall go and clean all of these connections and see how i get on! Would a poor connection from bulb to holder really cause this to happen though?? I mean all the lights work but at the wrong times!

 

The bulb is question is a double fillament bulb and when i checked it, 1 of the fillaments had blown and was touching the other, so i replaced it! Still no different though!!

 

Have you changed the other bulb on the other side as a precaution and have you 100% deffinately put the bulb in the right way?

 

Right i havent changed the bulb in the other side, ill go do that in a sec! Well as far as i can see theres only 1 way the bulb can go in
