my Gearbox drian plug needs to be replaced, so how hard is it to replace or top up the gearbox oil? as obviously removing the plug will let all the currrent oil do a bid for freedom

Passenger side view (on RHD cars anyway lol) shown.
Note that there is a gearbox "half" and a transfer box "half".
A = GEARBOX fill point, use gear oil EP 75/90
B = GEARBOX drain point.
C = TRANSFER BOX fill point, use ATF (auto transmission fluid).
D = TRANSFER BOX drain point (can only be seen on pics 3 & 4).

Slowpoke, yes the plugs can be reused many times.
When checking fluid levels should make sure the car is "fairlt" level, so you need 4 axle stands idealy. Car must be secure on the axle stands so that it cannot slide off......as most of your body will be under the car for this job.
Gear box fill level is to the bottom of the fill hole, so basically as it starts to overflow put the plug back in.
Transfer box correct fill level is 16 - 18mm BELOW the bottom of the fill hole, so use a right angled allen key as a dip-stick, poke it through the fill hole to check for the correct level.
