has any 1 dipped their car shell in an acid bath?
how much does it cost and who does it?

Rab my mate knows a mobile sand blaster in kilmarnock i could get you the number..he comes to the coachworks my mate works in to do odd jobs...the mk2 i have i would just like it to be dipped n rid of all the crap on it.

personally i dont like acid dipping, if it isnt neatrilised properly then it can cause huge probs. Fella who does all my sandblasting work for me has seen several like this, he recently had a old datsun in for blasting at it had been dipped and then primered, but acid risidue had gone thru the primer and rusted parts of the car back out was a fully restored shell but parts of it were in a bad way again.

Best of getting it DMS'd ( Dry Media Stripping ) Uses aluminium oxide

Loads better than acid

i wouldnt recommend having a shot blaster do it at your home

i did and never again took me 3 weeks to get the sand out of my garage and off my drive and is very very dusty now

but i have a shell that needs to go back t bare metal aswell but carnt find anyone or anything to do it with looks like im going to have to slave away for a couple of months
