Just had a little trip round the country lanes, thought the car felt a bit quick and when I looked, the boost guage is swinging all the way round and burying itself in the red in every gear!! ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
I've tried un-installing the bluefin and it's still over-boosting so I think I might have a mechanical problem somewhere....anyone got any ideas what it may be?
Cheers

Where is the boost solenoid located and, more importantly, is it expensive
Pennywise Even Danny's kit can't cope with this boost radders!!

Mine goes well into the red in top setting anyhow, nothing to worry about!
Solenoid is located under the battery, easiest to get to from underneath, has a plug (electrical) and three small hoses (turbo/actuator/bleed to air intake pipe) don't know how much they are? Standard one doesn't like modifications after a while anyhow it seems.

boost controller (whatever it is on a FRS) fucked, vac pipe from inlet to actuator (via boost controller) popped off or split, thats about it really, loadsa stuff that can make a car underboost, but overboost isnt many things.

Just been down to B.A.R and it turns out one of the little vacuum hoses had popped off the boost solenoid on the side of the air-box so easy fix and it's now behaving itself!!
*******BIG UP B.A.R!!!*******
Well done Nath and Steve, you were spot on with the diagnosis
While I was there also had my broken turbo bracket replaced and my new heat sheild fitted and installed my variable wiper assembly (little touches!!
) so she's in perfect working order again....well chuffed!!

Only just sern this but glad its sorted m8
I was gonna say it the hose that goes from solenoid to air box. There have been a few posts on the FFOC BB (and now FFOC is members only the RSOC BB
) about them coming off and causing massive over boost.
Sometimes you get a Engine light on aswell
