Default Removing Transfers

A mate of mine has just bought a car with transfers on, he's removed them but is left with the glue, any ideas what can be used to remove it??

Cheers mate, any idea on what the tar remover is actually called or manufactured by so i can tell him to get some tomorrow??

Was a 4x4 a toyota surf, and it had SURF wrote down the side.

He's tried

White spirit
Halfords tar & bug remover
Metholated spirit

Petrol sometimes works if white spirit fails.

if all else fails thinners works but be carefull and have a hosepipe there to wash it down!!!

I got some huge transfers off a puma using thinners a couple of months ago and the paints still on!!

I asked how he removed the transfers (thinking a hairdryer) and he said thinners and it's left the glue behind, maybe he didn't do it properly

I used meths for most of mine but the glue remover Benn had at his valeters was much better
