Default If you turn an alternator backwards will it still produce...

..charge?

Someone i know is trying to fit PAS to his escort and the only way he can get it sorted is to have the alternator running backwards [anti-clockwise]

Will it still produce current and keep the battery charged as normal or not?

Default reverse alternator

Hi mate interesting question, the answer to your dilema is yes it will still produce A/C current which will be rectified to D/C thus charging the battary.

Yes it will. My brother had a conversion in his car and his alternator was set up this way.
