Used car prices will go up as it says it will only apply to new cars. Th ewhole country will be driving around in old cars for years to come and nobody will get a greener car as they won't be able to afford to.
This'll never happen, it would fuck up the economy as people ground to a standstill. I beleive this is a scare before they hit us with something unpleasant but as we'll be so releived about not getting this load of old bollocks people won't kick off.

I'm more concerned about the rise in council Tax to pay for OTHER people to live here and benifit from our schools and hospitals etc 
Thats not all just read on another forum that a fella had two cars stolen a pc and other stuff and he and his son were in the house asleep,there were knives found were thre PC was, God knows what would have happened if they woke up

I have to say in principle I don't disagree with it on 4x4's. It would stop all these silly tarts having one just to take the kids to poxy school...............and all the 'fat cats' using a 7 series or Bentley just to get to the office and back every day.
If they can afford to buy and run a gas guzzler, they can afford the 2 grand..........

If people can afford to spend all this cash on the bloody 50K Chelsea tractors, then a 2K tax hike isn't beyond them either.
How does raking in all this money help climate change, it doesn't, its bollocks.
If they wanted to help the climate, ban the fucking things, stop letting industrial heavyweights get away with murder and pinning this bollocks on us poor motorists as the ONLY reason for climate change.
Personally, I approve of the Scandinavians. They have all sorts of policies for improving global warming and appear to be miles ahead of us. Christ, Denmark has just been voted the happiest country in the world, so climate control shouldn't mean misery for citizens getting hit in the pockets until you can stick your finger through and touch your toes.
Grr, gonna get off the soapbox now, me tea's ready.

bmw 7 series with the 4.8 engine kicks out 271g/km
the x5 with the same engine kicks out 324 g/km
and one only wieghs another 210 kgs more at 2700kg
so when you work it out it's kicking out almost 13% more emissions for the same engine, how does that work out?
and is that the reason they say they are gas guzzlers?
