Default PassionFord shows stands.... A little help required:

As most of you who went to Ford Fair will know, PassionFord had an absolutely fantastic show stand, due mainly to Nikki, Punter, and select others... there is more about the Ford Fair stand and who is responsible HERE on the appreciation post:

However, to my point;
Nikki and Crew have been doing these stands now for a bloody long time, 3-4years in fact, and they have always managed to make it all work pretty self sufficiently with only minimal help from anyone, but the cash is short and the funding needs to be raised for her to continue giving you all great stands and safe parking. Things like new banners and maybe flags etc all cost cash, although maybe teh person who helped out last time could do so again as knowing Nikki she has never mentioned to him that they are now getting tatty and worn out...

My suggestion for funding was simple, in fact, i presumed she had done this from teh start, but she hasnt as she doesnt like to be cheeky...

1) Charge anyone who wants to park safely infield on teh show stand a few quid for teh privalidge. Say, £3?

2) Charge a nominal fee for the cost of posting out tickets etc to the members who request them. Say, £2?

I know its all money, but its only fair as we cant expect her to do it out of her own pocket can we? I would prefer not to have a stand at all than see that happen peeps... its just not fair. So please, next time you bok something with her, lend a little hand towards financing your space and posting your tickets eh? Opinions and discussion welcome...

I think its a fine idea Stu. TBH I found it strange that she just sent tickets etc out on their face value and didn't factor postage etc in to the price. Most if not all other clubs do this anyway.
I would be more than happy to contribute to this as I feel it makes everyones experience at the shows better.
And if you're on the stand and know that you've contributed to signs/banners/flags etc would probably give you a sense of pride for the whole thing

There is always this thread that Nikki posted back in February to help her out

https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=173847

Its not a charity, she does it for us

I very rarely attend the shows but used that link back in Feb to send her some spare coins that were lying in my paypal account to help her help others

Is there anyone here who HAS parked on the show stands that can honestly say they wouldnt be happy to pay £3 rather than park in public parking, miles away, and worry about their car all day?

Yesterday was the first time I parked on a stand for a show and I can tell you I ain't never parking in the public car park again. £3 is nothing for that privilege - if thats the right word

I can honestly say that if i didnt get infield parking, i wouldnt even attend the show in most cases. Its so much nicer to wander round teh show knowing your car is near friends and NOT being kicked in / robbed.

I agree Stu, that and the fact you don't have to hike miles back to your car like a silverstone Not so bad if you haven't bought anything but I remember last year with front and back panels for a mk1 escort and an RS500 cooler etc etc. Nightmare.
This year, total breeze, 5 minutes and back at me car

Whilst I'm not a "show" person anymore (I don't even have a car lol) that is a perfect idea about how to do it Stu, and makes perfect sense!

It's typical of Nikki tho not to ask, as thats just like her - she has such a big heart and just loves to do things for everyone One of the nicest peeps I have met through the Ford Club world

But £5 to get you and your car into the show is not a silly ammount - it's less than other clubs charge aswell. And as discodenkelly said, it brings a sense of pride, aswell as a unity to the group involved, and makes everyones show a better place

I'd be more than happy to supply a couple of fresh new banners absolutely free of charge. PF has given me loads of business so don't mind helping out at all.

Ill get in touch with Nikki this week and sort something if you'd like me to do so.

Just tell us and i cant see why anyone would complain .

if they do they know where to go

for the added security of being on the stand the couple of quid is not anything compared to you pride and joy being fecked with by some piky
