Would somebody please be so kind as to explain how these things work and when they are nessacary ? i dont really have a solid idea of what and how they work,

i'll tell you then

dpends on each model, but generally they have a target boost to control to, they measure the boost, compare the 2 and open/close a valve on the wastegate as necessary.

I am Lynne however i have spoken with a few well known tuners who are not that impressed with Ecu-tek they have seen some of the map's that are not that great at the top end i.e looking lean, now as far as i am aware they are undetectable to the dealer (2 1/4 years warranty left) and i be grudge paying for something that i ultimately will probably end up changing for a complete after market set up....
