"There was flash floods in England today just South West of London"

Or the exact opposite side of the country

When they shown the video footage of some lil village in cornwall underwater the caption underneath actually said "London"

I know they used to 300miles aways being just down the road, but its a bit different here!

It was like a TV version of the old Mark n Lard "London Village" jokes (again, english joke thats not funny, or infact 2 english radio blokes who arnt funny)

Stu, it's unfortunate that the Media and or movies almost always show London, so most think about London when thinking about the UK. Just like when People talk about the US it's either NYC,LA or Miami. You don't hear about Red Oak in Iowa.
