crap light car with an engine that can be made fairly quick
Not in any way a "drivers car" IMHO
I would have been amazed if that featured in any serious list of drivers or handling cars TBH
Never driven one myself

To me the absolute first thing that HAS to be true of any "drivers car" is it must inspite confidence, ive driven lots of R5, but none that managed that basic task.
I dont think i have ever driven a really pristine standard example though TBH so maybe im being unfair!

Alex, someone told me you had come out of the closet, and i thought it was old news, but then i realised the gravity of just what they were talking about.
Getting another man to repeatedly bugger you was one thing, but buying a fucking 116 is just going too far

Cam/Chip- Why saying GTTs handle badly?
They generally accepted to be nigh on as good as a 205GTI.
They handle shithot, and ive had 205 GTIs and R5GTTs, superb handling IMO.
Very little difference apart from weight between them and Mk1 Clios...

Ive not driven one yet that handled in a confidence inspiring way.
Mind you the *average* 205 handles shit these days too, despite the fact a well maintained one is a pleasure to drive, so like i said, maybe im being unfair having not driven a good enough example of a standard R5

Indeed, but oh no the thieving hun bastards had to go and stick a "mini" badge on it just to make them able to sell them to trendy cunts who know nothing about cars

BMW build the new Mini so how could it be the Metro of the decade?
I'm now very confused

Bmw own the names:
Mini
Metro
Maxi
Allegro
They should have put "allegro" or "metro" on their small FWD hatchback really to have made it an accurate representation

Sometimes think I should flog the Beemer for a VR6, or maybe a 200sx S13(but that's a whole other topic ). Getting bored of the car now!
Chip, never realised they had retained those names when they sold Rover. Sly old buggers, but WTF are they ever gonna do with the Maxi, Allegro, and Metro names?

Standard cars are shit, all the ones mentioned are.
Thats the whole point of tuning cars, to make them less shit.
Unfortunatley they usually turn into unreliable moneypits at the same time
