non-cat has horizontal HT lead outlets, later ones have vertical turrets.

AFAIK, the redtop and greentop engine versions of 4x4 Sapph had thes two different caps, but all Escos were Cat equipped, with the vertical turret cap..

bear in mind you will need the correct HT leads to suit - the later ones have right-angled connections to plug into the vertical turrets.

that's what i was going to say.

Check his leads to see what cap he needs.

Bent leads.....straight cap.

Straight leads....bent cap.

Could've sworn I had vertical turrets/straight lead ends ....but can't be RS'd to check until tomorrow.

The reason I said straight cap, was to avoid *possible* issues with the Motorsport lead (angled end type only) that *some* people had - forgetting about if he has std Beru leads - doh!

Bill,
there's no way straight leads in a vertical cap will fit under the inlet manifold..

the caps are interchangeable to a certain extent, you can fit a later type (vertical turret) onto the early type dizzy but not vice versa. as long as you change the leads that is. cheers nomad
